United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification: Women-led Solutions to Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought
The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), calls for “a future that
avoids, minimizes, and reverses desertification/land degradation and mitigates the effects of drought in affected areas at all levels – and to achieve a land degradation-neutral world consistent.
Purpose of this call
The UNCCD will be holding its 15th Conference of Parties (COP 15) in May 2022, hosted by Cote d’Ivoire. The COP15 theme, ‘Land. Life. Legacy: From scarcity to prosperity’, is a call to action to ensure land, the lifeline on this planet, continues to benefit present and future generations.
Participants
COP15 will bring together leaders from governments, the private sector, civil society and other key stakeholders from around the world to drive progress in the future sustainable management of one of our most precious commodities: land.
The submissions will comprise a photo exhibit for COP15, to be displayed at the conference venue in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
