Title: Workshop Facilitator Consultant – Teambuilding & Project Orientation

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Period of Performance: Dates TBC (anticipated in mid-November to mid-December).

LOE:  7 working days (2 days planning; 3 days facilitation; 2-day post workshop report writing)

Background:

The purpose of the five-year (2023 – 2028) People Centered Governance (PCG) Activity is to promote effective, legitimate local governance in Southern Somalia. PCG will support governance institutions that have struggled to adopt inclusive decision-making models, manage impartially resources and disputes, and deliver tangible results for citizens. PCG will target district councils that—through their performance in the eyes of citizens—play an important role in repairing citizen trust across divided communities and in the State. PCG’s two Intermediate Results are: 1) District Councils are more fair and more inclusive; and 2) Increased participation of citizens in decision making.

Objectives:

The Workshop Facilitator’s primary task is to facilitate and support the PCG Team building & Project Orientation Workshop.

Responsibilities:

Specifically, the Workshop Facilitator will:

-Meet with the PCG senior leadership to better understand the wider objectives of PCG and the Teambuilding & Project Orientation Workshop.

-Develop a training program which includes 2-days of trainer-led input on enabling effective team dynamics and working-culture, facilitating a participatory process to define PCGs mission, values and principles and (in-conjunction with PCG colleagues) facilitate a 1-day overview of the PCG program to the wider project team.

-Produce a post-workshop report and deliver a debrief for the Senior Leadership Team.

-Other tasks as assigned.

Deliverables:

-A three-day training curricula, reflecting consultations with the PCG team.

-Facilitation of three-day workshop.

-Post-workshop report and Senior Leadership Team debrief.

Reporting:  The Workshop Facilitator will report to the Chief of Party.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Extensive previous facilitation, training and teambuilding experience.
  • Experience of supporting project-implementation teams working on donor-funded projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
