About the Opportunity:
Plan International Kenya, in collaboration with Plan International USA, has an exciting turnkey business opportunity for a social enterprise that is passionate about youth employment in Kenya and equally passionate about accelerating its own business growth. This is part of a global roll-out of the Youth Employment Platform that Plan International USA is pursuing, while also seeking additional investors to join in supporting this initiative.
The opportunity is to utilize a tried and tested Youth Employment Platform implemented in South Africa over the past 6 years. This platform, a WhatsApp & Web based career support and placement tech platform, helps youth gain career advice, apprenticeships / internships and employment whilst simultaneously benefiting employers through a more efficient hiring process and better-quality candidate selections. The Youth Employment Platform, developed by Mintor, is an award-winning chat-based (Conversational Al) innovation, headquartered in South Africa, that has supported nearly 100,000 youth to date. The platform enables a Social Enterprise to expand quickly, at low cost, even with limited knowledge of Information Technology. The only equipment necessary are personal computers and internet access.
Plan International aims to scale the award-winning Al-powered youth mentoring and job placement social enterprise model in the Kenyan market. The successful social enterprise will take the Mintor model, localize it to the labor market conditions in Kenya (via an HCD approach to better support women and disadvantaged youth, as well as employers) and implement it while structuring financial arrangements with the goal to achieve a financial sustainability business model.
