Tender Notice and Invitation to Tender: LOT 1- Civil Works for Pipe Laying for Kidong’ Water Supply Pipeline Extension and Masonry Storage Tank Construction

1. The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) is a humanitarian relief organization created by an Act of Parliament, Cap 256 of the Laws of Kenya on 21st December 1965. Its vision is to be the most effective, trusted and self-sustaining humanitarian organization in Kenya. Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) through the funding from British Red Cross (BRC) are implementing an Integrated Food Security and Livelihood project in Taveta Sub-County in partnership with Taita-Taveta County government. Under the WASH component of this program, the project proposes to construct a storage tank, a 9.3km water supply pipeline extension to Kidong’ and the design for the same has been completed.
2. KRCS is currently seeking for eligible contractors to undertake the Civil Works for Pipe Laying and Construction of Masonry storage tank for the proposed Di-Moody-Nakuruto Water Supply Project in Taita Taveta County.
The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) hereby invite sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Civil Works for Pipe Laying and Construction of masonry Storage Tank for Kidong’ Water Supply pipeline extension in Taita Taveta County.
The Scope of works to be executed under this contract comprises of the following:
(i) Civil works for pipe laying, testing and commissioning of Conveyance pipeline to included supply of requisite installation materials as specified and as shown in drawings;
(ii) Civil works for Construction, testing and commissioning of pipeline appurtenances including river / gully crossings, Anchor blocks and piers, Section Valves, Air Valves, Washouts etc. as specified and shown in drawings;
(iii)Civil works for construction, testing and commissioning of communal watering points;
(iv) Construction of 50m3 masonry storage tank at Kidong’ hill.

4. Tenders are to be completed in accordance with the requirements of the Bid Documents and must be submitted via email tenders@redcross.or.ke by Friday, 17th December 2021, on or before 11.00 am local time.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of bid price in Kenya shillings in form of a bank guarantee issued by a reputable bank located in Kenya. A copy of bid security MUST be submitted with the bids in line with the laid down guidelines in the tender documents.

5. Bidders should provide a combined technical and financial proposal as per laid down guidelines in the Bid Document. Completed scanned (soft copy) tenders and supporting documents clearly name in the folder or file

Hard Copies submitted through the Tender box will be rejected.
6. Qualification Requirements as stated in Appendix to Instruction to Tenderers and as provided in Section 4, Qualification Requirements and Evaluation Criteria shall apply.
7. KRCS has not organized for a site visit for the project prior to biding. Interested and eligible bidders or their representatives who would wish to visit the site through their own arrangements can reach the KRCS representatives in Taita Taveta County through the following Contacts (0725548656 or 0728730717).

9. Late bids will be rejected.
The Employer reserves the right to:
a) amend the scope and value of any contract to be Tendered;
b) reject any Tender and any late Tender; and
c) Cancel the Tender process and reject all Tenderers.
The Employer shall not be liable for any such actions and shall not be under any obligation to inform the Tenderer(s) of the grounds therefore.
