1. Bidders are required to inspect the vehicles prior to submitting their bids as the KRCS does not warrant particulars. The vehicles and assorted items described are offered for sale on ‘AS IS WHERE IS’ basis, without warranty and without recourse.
2. Vehicles and the other assorted items can be viewed at our Logistics Centre, Bellevue, South C, off Popo Road from Monday 24th October 2022 to Friday 5th November 2022 between 0900hrs to 1230hrs and 1400hrs to 1600hrs, Monday to Friday ONLY.
3. Motor vehicle bidders will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh. 5,000 for the motor vehicles ONLY and attach proof of payment to the bidding documents as this will be a mandatory requirement (attach the bank deposit slip on the bid document). 4. The Kenya Red Cross Society reserves the right to withdraw any item prior to award.
5. A bidder may ONLY bid for one vehicle in one tender document.
6. Bidders are required to submit a Five percent (5%) bid bond in the form of a Banker’s cheque ONLY. The bid bonds will be refunded to unsuccessful bidders within twenty-one (21) days from the date of opening of bids. Where refund cheque shall not have been collected within thirty (30) days from the date of notification, then such funds shall be transferred to the bidder’s bank account net of all cost incurred therein.
7. The bid amount should be Exclusive of all Taxes and Government Duties, the successful bidder shall pay the Duty(s), Taxes or VAT or any other Government fees directly to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) (ESlip) and or any other relevant Government departments and will be required to provide proof of such payments or evidence of duty free status in Kenya to the Kenya Red Cross Society prior to collection of the motor vehicle(s) within fourteen (14) days after signing the vehicle sale contract.
8. The successful bidder is solely responsible for payment of any duties or taxes which may be due because of this sale.
9. Successful bidders will be notified within ten (10) working days from the date of opening of bids and shall sign a sale agreement with KRCS within Five (5) working days of such notification.
10. Payment of the 95% bid balance must be made in full prior to hand over of the vehicle by the Kenya Red Cross Society and in any case within fourteen (14) days of signing the vehicle sale contract.
11. If a successful bidder fails to sign the vehicle sale contract and make payment as provided for in clause 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 herein, they shall forfeit their bid bonds to the Society and both parties shall be discharged from any obligations under this tender and the vehicle sale contract.
12. Upon payment of the purchase price in full, EFT or by banker’s cheque drawn and payable to the Kenya Red Cross Society and payment of all duties / taxes / fees due to the Government of Kenya as provided for in clause (6) & (7) above, title to the vehicle shall pass to the buyer and all handling thereafter shall be at the expense and risk of the buyer.
13. The buyer agrees to remove the item awarded at their expense and without damage to surrounding property including buildings, and further offers and agrees to reimburse the Kenya Red Cross Society any damage sustained because of the removal of the vehicle or other assorted items purchased.
14. The Kenya Red Cross Society shall NOT provide any assistance either mechanical or manpower for the removal of the vehicle from their compound.
15. Kenya Red Cross Society will remove all the motor vehicle insurance cover from the vehicles.
16. The Kenya Red Cross Society shall not provide follow up with Government departments for payment of Taxes, Duties, and any other Government related cost.
17. Bids in the format of enclosed bid form must be submitted in sealed envelopes marked SALE OF MOTOR VEHICLES, Tender number: KRCS/MVSALE001/10/2022 in the tender box located at the main reception, Kenya Red Cross Society Headquarters either on or before the closing date / time: Monday 7th November 2022 at 1000HRS
18. Bids for the other assorted items do not require bid bond and bidders to quote for interested items in one document.
