Position: Project Nurse

Daraja Mbili Vision Volunteers is a Community-Based Organization, registered in Kenya as a non-profit organization. As an organization, we envision to work towards having a Healthy and Empowered Society. DMVV’s mission is to enhance sustainable health access to communities in Kenya through implementation of health and social development programs that contributes to health promotion, diseases prevention, mitigation of suffering and empowerment for all. DMVV is implementing Global Fund HIV grants through Kenya Red Cross Society to implement comprehensive HIV prevention, care and support program for AYP and PLHIV in Kisii County. The program is seeking to fill the following positions in Kisii County.

Successful candidates will be expected to utilize a targeted approach to youth development by providing safe spaces for adolescents and young people to access information on sexual and reproductive health services, HIV/AIDS awareness, information resource center and recreational activities that are critical to youth-led development.

Job Summary
Reporting to the site in charge, the project will be responsible of providing and coordinating clinical services both at the YWC and outreaches and take charge to oversee clinical services at the outreach sites as delegated by the supervisor.

Responsibilities and Tasks
• Provision excellent standards and quality of clinical care is provided to all clients and effective referrals and linkages made to tertiary facilities.
• Ensure that the agreed program targets are met within the agreed timelines.
• Provide the correct information is relayed to beneficiaries, Program structures and all the stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Create awareness and demand for Comprehensive package for AYPs.
• Offer screening to all AGYW for cervical cancer as per the agreed targets.
• Offer Screening and treatment of STIs.
• Outreach services- Take lead of clinical services at the outreach sites.
• Clients records – Ensure completeness of the clients’ folders and entry to respective registers including cohort registers
• Adhere and align to DMVV and donor set targets.
• Ensure regular communications are maintained between the different departments and act as a mediator when necessary.
• Support site in charge to promote and facilitate accountability through setting up of complaints and feedback mechanism
which promotes accountability.
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Support site in charge in ensuring documentation is well organized and kept on-site at the office level for future reference.
• Prepare periodic progress reports, documents-site level reports and submit to YWC in charge within agreed timelines.

Minimum Qualification:
Candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications;
• Diploma in Nursing with a valid practicing license.
• A registered nurse with reputable Council in Kenya.
• 2 years’ experience working in a clinical setting
• Relevant experience in similar/related position and demonstrated work experience in KP-DiCE/YWC/CCC
• Analytical and conceptual skills
• Good Interpersonal/Communication skills
• Results orientated
• Teamwork and Cooperation
• Motivation and Innovation
• Relevant computer skills

Terms of Employment: Employment is on a one year, renewable-term contract with a probation period for the first 3 months.
Salary is negotiable within the appropriate DMVV salary scale depending on education, experience and demonstrated competency.
