Nuffic Scholarships- Nuffic Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP)

Description

RNTC is the internationally renowned training center of RNW Media, providing training and coaching in media and capacity strengthening for social change.

RNTC Media Training Centre goes beyond traditional journalism, media and campaigning, combining research and powerful theory, professional practice and creative innovation.

Through the partnership with Nuffic Global Development, we are able to offer scholarships to media-makers in restrictive settings who use media for social change and create social impact.

Aim

  • to strengthens knowledge and skills of professionals active in the priority fields through scholarships and training;
  • builds the capacity of organizations in higher education and TVET (Technical Vocational Education & Training), in collaboration with Dutch knowledge institutions.

Themes

The programme offers opportunities in fields related to the priority themes of the Dutch government:

  • Food and nutrition security
  • Water, energy and climate
  • Sexual and reproductive health and rights
  • Security and the rule of law

In addition, the following cross-cutting themes are important in all participating countries:

  • Private sector development
  • Inclusivity of women and marginalized groups
  • Environment

Eligibility Criteria

The Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) does not have a specific age limit but focuses on mid-career professionals.

  • You are a national who lives and works in one of the countries on the Nuffic OKP list.
  • You have an Employer’s Statement that complies with the format Nuffic has provided.
  • You have an official and valid passport.
  • You are not attending two or more courses at the same time.
  • You provide a Government Statement if needed.
  • You must not be employed by an organization that has its own means of staff-development, such as:
    ▪ Multinational corporations (e.g. Shell, Unilever, Microsoft)
    ▪ Large national and/or large commercial organizations
    ▪ Bilateral donor organizations (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida, Dutch ministry of Foreign affairs, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid)
    ▪ Multilateral donor organizations (e.g. a UN organization, the World Bank, the IMF, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, IADB)
    ▪ International NGOs (e.g. Oxfam, Plan, Care)
