MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy Program for Aspiring Film and TV Content Creators

MultiChoice Africa is calling all aspiring film directors, DOPs, sound guys, and scriptwriters to help us ignite Africa’s creative industries. The content creators from Southern Africa, West Africa, and East Africa are invited to be part of the Class of 2023.

The recruitment of aspiring African talent will assist them to gain theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in cinematography, film editing, audio production and storytelling. Sixty talented students from 13 African countries will get the chance to hone their film and television production skills alongside industry greats. This year-long, funded, programme will be supported by MultiChoice Talent Factory academies hosted in Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia. Students will create quality local content that will be broadcast on our local M-Net channels on the MultiChoice platform.

Eligibility

The call is open to all emerging filmmakers with either some industry experience or a relevant post-school qualification.

Program Details

  • Our curriculum combines film studies such as directing, sound design, the business of film, to name a few with workplace experience on M-Net’s top productions.
  • It is a 12-month fully-funded programme.

Note

MultiChoice Africa is committed to building and sustaining the training-to-employment pipeline within Africa’s film and TV industry. The MTF initiative also aims for a 60/40 split in favor of women since its inception.
