Job Vacancy: Roving Cashier

Marie Stopes Kenya (MSK) has been operational in Kenya for 35 years. It is the largest provider of family planning services in Kenya and offers life-saving and life-enhancing services to men and women of all ages through a range or sexual and reproductive health service through its own clinic outlets, a network of franchise outlets branded Amua, and the marketing of RH commodities. In addition, MSK has an MCH 24 bed nursing home in Nairobi. All these channels of service provision are intended to:

  • Reach high numbers of clients with RH services
  • Generate an income that results in sustainability and profitability of the network
  • Set an example in quality of care to other providers

Reporting to and working with the Channel Lead Centers, the Roving Cashier’s (Independent consultant) main role is to assist MSK Programs department achieve effective centers monitoring through real time analysis and reporting of service income, client conversions and inventory management. The Roving Cashier is expected to carry out his/her activity in designated centers independently. The Roving Cashier must be systematic in all operations adhering to the laid out standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as the first and final point of contact for the clients visiting MSK centres
• Register and issue clients with a client registration card to be used in service provision at MSK Centres
• Ensure completeness in data entry while capturing client data i.e. referral source, consent for feedback
• Ensure all client information is kept confidential at all times and stored appropriately
• Bill clients appropriately and provide official receipts for payments made before service uptake
• Reconciling services offered to MSK clients as recorded in the client registration cards against client recording system;
• Prepare and submit daily reconciliation reports for actual clients visits against E-HR registered clients, E-HR offered services against actual services paid for and reported services numbers against stock utilization;
• Prepare stock movement and reconciliation schedules
• Prepare, review and monitor center service income report for Centre Manager sign-off

Knowledge, skills and attitudes
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Finance or Business related field

Skills:
• Proven cashier experience
• Experience working with MSK as a consultant (desirable)
• High regard for confidentiality
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills
• Good communication skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Good organization and prioritization skills
• Trustworthy and responsible
