Job Title: Youth Talent and Skills Development Officer

Lutheran World Federation World Service Kenya Program is seeking to recruit a Kenyan national for the above position to be based in Kakuma.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Youth protection and Development Officer, the post holder will be in charge of the youth talent and Skills development activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Youth Talent & Skills Development Officer will be responsible for:

  • Develop strategies and programs for skills and talents development among refugee/ host community youth
  • Participate in designing skills development programs and strategies to support talent growth
  • Assess the needs of young people, plan and monitor the programs and strategies related to talent development
  • Set up mechanisms to nurture talents and increase opportunities for youth and adolescents in Kakuma refugee camp
  • Set up mechanisms to ensure coaching and mentorship and commercialization of products
  • Develop and strengthen strategic partnership locally and globally for talent promotion.
  • Manage the talent and skills development portfolio on a day-to-day basis
  • Monitoring, impact analysis and marketing of the talent development activities
  • Prepare the required reports of activities to be shared with the supervisor
  • Carry out any other assignment as requested by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 Years ‘Experience from working with Youth and Youth programming in Emergency or development context
  • Bachelor of Arts in  Cultural Development, Talent Development / Management, Development studies, Social sciences, or related qualification
  • Previous experience from working  in Refugee contexts
  • Talent marketing skills
