Job Title: Coordinator – Universal Health Coverage Delivery Lab, Amref Health Africa

UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE (UHC) DELIVERY LAB
The UHC Delivery Lab is a regional hub that supports African countries to accelerate their journey towards UHC and facilitates shared learning on matters UHC within the region. The UHC Delivery Lab is based on the work of the AHAIC Commission’s report on the state of UHC in Africa and seeks to support countries and institutions to contextualize and action the recommendations in the report.
JOB PURPOSE
The Coordinator will support the Senior Health Policy Advisor at the Executive Office in the coordination of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Delivery Lab activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and monitor country specific work plans based on country demands and varied country approaches.
- Coordinate engagements within countries and regional institutions.
- Work closely with administrative teams to coordinate country requests which may vary but is not limited to internal and external team travel to personnel/contractor recruitment.
- Coordinate and engage with country teams to channel requests to the Senior Health Policy Advisor and in collaboration with the Policy Analyst, outline rationale for proposed requests of support from different country teams and institutions.
- Maintain a consistent and effective communication channel with country leads, and other relevant internal (Amref teams) and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the various teams including but not limited to the ICT and administrative teams.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with different internal and external teams.
- Support in drafting key reports and documents particularly in the collation of country deliverables.
- Track requests with budgetary implications and channel to the Senior Health Policy Advisor.
- Collaborate with the partnerships team where necessary for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain a bird’s eye view of the multiple programme activities across implementing countries.
- Any other duties assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Master’s in Public Health, Health Policy, and/or Health Systems
- Post graduate training in Project Management
Experience
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in public health
- Experience supporting health projects in more than one country
