JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of the job is to provide project support in ensuring the successful implementation of the Mothers and Children Program.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and update databases and records on programing activities for the program Monitoring and evaluation purposes
  2. Review and update records on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
  3. Coordinate and liaise with database manager and data clerks to routinely respond to database enquiries from program staff on a day to day basis
  4. Assist the Program coordinator in preparing status and progress reports by providing information such as, prepare indicator tables, charts and draft sections of it as required
  5. Identify CHWs training needs, organize and facilitate CHW training where applicable
  6. Prepare background CHW materials and Indicator tables for briefing and review sessions
  7. Monitoring the management of the CHWs’ kit and Providing CHWs with on-going technical coaching where necessary.
  8. Supporting the CHWs in assigned tasks and coaching them to ensure achievement of desired outputs and outcomes in relation to the performance targets on a weekly basis
  9. Collating information gathered by the CHWs to display summaries at strategic sites to provide relevant feedback as well as material for dialogue at household and community levels.
  10. Compiling reports from CHWs.
  11. Receiving feedback from level link facilities and passing it on the CHCs and CHWs through dialogue and planning that leads to actions to improve identified issues.
  12. Following up and monitoring actions emerging from dialogue and planning sessions to ensure implementation.
  13. Tracking CHW visits to households to ensure that all community members are receiving on-time visits, Conduct feedback sessions with CHWs and CHWs sub-teams and fill out a checklist form for each CHW.
  14. Observing and documenting the accuracy and skill with which each CHW delivers services such as Health education, RDT testing, MUAC measurement, and home based health behavior and counseling.
  15. Occasionally conduct and document verbal autopsy
  16. Support community health outreaches
  17. Support sensitization campaigns
  18. Organize and lead CHWs weekly and monthly review meetings
  19. Support the Program Coordinator to organize and lead quarterly Stakeholders meetings.
  20. Support development of annual work plans and its implementation
  21. Participate in stakeholders and relevant department forums.
  22. And any other duty as assigned by supervisor

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 Level of Education/Academic Qualification

A Bachelor’s degree/ diploma in Public Health, Environmental Health and Nursing, community health development
