Job Opportunity for a Global HR Coordinator, NRC

Background
NRC launched its first Global Recruitment Centre in October 2020 in Nairobi. By establishing the Centre, NRC aims at driving efficiency and quality of recruitment in support of all its offices and operations in more than 30 countries. The NRC Global Recruitment Centre covers a large functional scope comprising of five main areas: Attract, Search, Recruit, Vet and Contract. It is led by the Head of the Centre and consists of a team of expert recruiters and HR coordinators.
The Global HR Coordinator will provide efficient HR support to ensure professional level of recruitment service is delivered by the Centre. The role will be primarily responsible for high quality pre-employment checks and preparation of international employment contracts.
Main Responsibilities
- Work closely with, recruiting team and relevant senior HR co coordinators to obtain timely information regarding the need for background checks and job offer preparation
- Coordinate, distribute and administer all mandatory background checks according to NRC
- policies and local regulations; share and clarify the process with candidates
- Monitor pre-employment assessment is completed in line with NRC requirements; inform hiring managers and recruiting team of any issues and/or delays in the process
- Prepare employment contracts ensuring all relevant documentation accompanying contract is collected and filled in correctly
- Keep candidates informed during all stages of vetting and contracting process treating them with the utmost care throughout the process; explain terms and conditions of contract clauses ensuring they understand and follow accordingly
- Liaise with hiring managers/ IT and relevant local HR colleagues to coordinate smooth induction and onboarding of new hires
- Prepare offer letters and related on-boarding documentation and monitor submission of documentation to ensure a timely commencement of the new hire; partner closely with relevant HR colleagues to transfer timely message necessary for visa and permits’ preparations
- Support in implementation of the NRC Global Recruitment strategy, tools and systems
- Organize and maintain administrative systems and procedures to ensure that documentation, information and files can be appropriately and readily retrieved at any time
Professional Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Relevant experience in contract management role in an international environment
- Strong organizational skills and proven track record of workload management
- Ability to explain terms and conditions
- Previous experience in customer service and strong communication skills
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and values and ability to convey them
Personal Qualities
To be successful in this role, you need to have a high degree of integrity, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards – with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively. Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate appropriately with people of all levels are also required. You have a positive attitude with an understanding that priorities might change and flexibility is key to deliver in a dynamic work situation. A good sense of humor would be an asset!
