Internship Opportuities

Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) is a non-profit umbrella organization that supports 35-member Community Conservancies across northern and coastal Kenya with fundraising, technical support, governance advice and training, and security. Its mission is to develop resilient community conservancies that transform lives, secure peace, and conserve natural resources. It is a nongovernmental organization headquartered in Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Meru County. More information can be found at www.nrt-kenya.org.

We are happy to announce possible Internship opportunities for University and College graduates from 39 NRT-Member community conservancies across 10 counties where we operate in (Isiolo, Marsabit, West Pokot, Laikipia, Samburu, Meru, Baringo, Garissa, Tana River and Lamu). The goal of this program is to improve employability of the successful candidates in the job market. This is a competitive undertaking and only suitable candidates will be selected to take advantage of this initiative. Successful candidates will be placed with the Northern Rangelands Trust and its member conservancies in which NRT has developed an internship relationship.

Eligibility
To be considered for an internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
▪ Be a resident of NRT-Member Community Conservancies across the 10 counties where we operate in.
▪ Be a degree or diploma holder of a University or a College in Kenya.
▪ Preference will be given to graduates with no prior work experience or internship.
▪ Graduates with Entrepreneurship Skills, Community Development, Accounts and Finance, Natural Resource Management, Catering, Education, Research, Communications, Statistics and Livestock Production, procurement, Human Resource, Civil Engineer/works, and fleet maintenance will have distinct advantage.
▪ Candidates are expected to organize their own accommodation (within the vicinity of Lewa Conservancy), transport and meals during the Internship period, NRT will only offer a small monthly stipend to subsidize internship costs.
▪ Female graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
