Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Scholarships
The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Academy of Society have started a fund called Gandhi Smarak Nidhi for the development of higher education in east Africa. The scholarships are provided by the university of Nairobi, The aim of the scholarship is to assist the students of Kenya who are interested in pursuing post graduation degree or Master’s degree from the university. The funds of the scholarship is provided for one year where the candidate can re-apply for the extension of the funds for further years.
Field of study:
Scholarship covers all subjects or fields of study.
Stipend and duration:
The University of Nairobi offers scholarship in the form of bursaries and partial scholarships and a yearly monetary price to the best student in each faculty.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applying candidates must have attained at least an Upper Second Class Honors or its equivalent at Bachelors level.
- The candidate must receive an offer from the university before the candidate apply for the scholarship.
Target group:
Candidate who are permanent residents of countries in East Africa with all necessary requirements are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Attachments to be submitted:
- curriculum vitae
- copies of offer of appointment from the university
- Two letters of recommendation
The applying candidate should make a payment of a non-refundable application fee of Kenya shillings two
thousand only either through account number that is generated by the system for every applicant, every year before the start of admissions the university releases the notification in local print media.
