Donor Relations Assistant Needed

UN-Habitat is the United Nations agency responsible for urbanization and human settlements, mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities. This position is located in the Donor Relations and Strategic Resource Partnerships, External Relations, Strategy, Knowledge and Innovation Division (ERSKI) of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat).

This post will contribute to the enhancing funding of UN-Habitats core and earmarked activities to advance sustainable urbanization through the creation an appeal document that highlights the added value of UN-Habitat in developing global urban norms and policies and providing support to countries around the world. The document will be shared with development partners to strengthen strategic relations and increase financing for areas that are of common interest with partners to advance the goals of global urban agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the review of interim and final donor reporting templates; follow up on the comments from substantive officers; ensure incorporation in the final template
  • Assist in drafting core contributions reminder letters to be sent out to Member States
  • Assist in writing and sending acknowledgement letters and receipts to donors.
  • Review the accuracy of the 2021 donor reporting calendar, and correct any errors in the system on the report due dates
  • Assist in monitoring the Resource Mobilization Work-plan to ensure timely implementation of activities
  •  Assist in monitoring, reporting to donors and following up on pending donor payments
  • Support the unit to improve on reporting to donors and follow up on contributions from Member States to UN-Habitat.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications:
High school diploma is required. Degree in Finance, International Relations and Donor Relations is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of office experience is required.
  • Experience in support to donor relations and resource mobilization is desirable.
  • Experience in providing support to the engagement of Member States is desirable
