Credit Control Officer – Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS)
Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based health solutions provider founded by an ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). The Organization’s core mandate is to provide reliable and affordable Health Products and Technologies, Quality Assurance and Health Systems Strengthening Services. MEDS was established in 1986 and serves clients spread all over Kenya, other regions in Africa and beyond.
The role will report to the Credit Control Manager and will be responsible for debt collection and reconciling of clients’ accounts.
Key responsibilities:
- Reconcile and maintain accurate customer transactions to reflect the true position of clients’ accounts.
- Maintain credit records in an orderly manner.
- Maintain client relationship while collecting debts.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls in credit management processes, including sales/revenue recognition, client account management, debit and credit notes, and receipting.
- Reverse dishonored cheque on customer accounts and timely return to the customer for replacement.
- Reconcile unallocated receipts accounts and cash sales accounts to reflect the true position of the accounts.
- Carry out monthly reconciliations of the debtors’ ageing and the general ledger.
- Review all unallocated payments and ensure the same are applied to correct customer accounts.
- Review the correctness of customer statements before release to the customers.
- Assist the Credit Supervisor in preparation of accurate weekly customer ageing analysis for presentation to the management.
- Customer visits to facilitate prompt debt collections.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration or a business-related course
- CPA Part II certification or related course
- Credit Management certifications is an added advantage
- Clean driving license with over 5 years of continuous driving experience
- Minimum of 5 years 3 years in accounting or credit management in a fast-moving goods or service sector environment.
