Consultancy on Technical Capacity Development in Auto-body Technology
The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is implementing Technical cooperation measures on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The German Government supports the TVET reform process of the Kenyan Government. During the government to government negotiations held in August 2016, the Kenyan and the German Governments agreed to establish the “Promotion of Youth Employment” Project and as a new priority area of German Development Cooperation. The objective of the project is to boost youth employment by offering industry-oriented, high quality technical and vocational training in close cooperation with the private sector.
Given the importance of high-quality technical and vocational training programs in overcoming youth unemployment, Germany is supporting both in the framework of Technical and Financial Cooperation, as the new focal area of German Development Cooperation with Kenya. It is planned to upgrade 7 public TVET institutions to industry-specific Centers of Excellence for cooperative training. Through the German Technical Cooperation, GIZ will focus on establishing the pre-conditions for the successful implementation of cooperative training models which include, capacity of trainers and management, industry-TTI collaboration frameworks, legal framework conditions and establishing digital training formats.
The assignment’s objective is to develop the capacity of trainers from Thika Technical Training Institute on the technical aspects in Auto-body Technology/Welding to enable them to effectively implement the school part of the Auto-body Technician level 6 curriculum.
Interested consultant must have technical capacity in the field of Automotive Bodybuilding/Welding, have a fully equipped practical training workshop in the same field and have prior experience in conducting ToTs in the same field or carrying out apprenticeship programs on the same.
Interested consultants must provide verifiable proof of qualifications and experience in similar/related services. The tenderer is also requested to provide a summary assessment of the team proposed and must specify their positions, tasks and qualifications for each expert.
