Consultancy Services Required for Forum Coordination
Organizational Setting and Background
UN Environment Programme’s Science Division is organizing two regional Forums in 2020, in Africa and Asia Pacific respectively, and a Global Forum in Paris 2020, which will pull together at summit level, corporate leadership and multi stakeholders from the policy, science, business and private sector communities.
This work will fall under the Office of Director of the Science Division and will include engagement with global science sectors and science-based organizations and will also look at opportunities to enhancing relationships with environmental groups, creating green investments, and focusing on nature based solutions.
UN Environment’s Science Division is organizing two regional Forums in 2021, in Africa and Asia Pacific respectively, and a Global Science Policy Business Forum and Expo, which will pull together at summit level, corporate leadership and multi stakeholders from the policy, science, business and private sector communities.
The Consultant will be home-based.
Specific duties and responsibilities;
Under the direct supervision of the Head, Science Policy Business Forum Unit, Science Division, UN Environment Programme, the Consultant perform the following;
– Provide solutions for the Forum’s data collection systems, social media and knowledge management platforms
– Provide well managed database systems, and implement improvements
– Contribute to making website structure improved and up to date
– Provide the Forum reports on communication and outreach activities
– Provide the required support and contribution to the Forum’s team for the Forum’s preparation for meetings, in particular UNEA 5, the third global session and the regional forums for the UN SPBF for 2021
– Provide and initiate recommendations for technology improvements in relation to virtual meetings and events
– Provide required input and detailed contribution to all related aspects of technological and innovation strategies for Forum’s online and virtual meetings and events for 2021.
– Provides all necessary management for the Forum’s Chinese partnerships for renewal of donor agreements, and continued collaboration. These partnerships include Tongji University, SEE Foundation and GEIDCO Group of Companies Ltd. The task will also include follow up on potential Chinese partners including Tshingua University, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) and Huawei Technologies.
Academic Qualifications:
1st level university degree is required in one or a combination of areas related to Engineering, Environment, Finance, Administration, Communications, and/or Business studies.
Experience:
2 years experience required in either one or a combination of event organization, resource mobilization and fund raising, database management, reporting, development of outreach products and global partner outreach.
