Tikkun Olam Grant Program
Jewish Helping Hands has launched its Tikkun Olam Grant Program to advance their goal of inspiring and supporting tzedakah, justice and righteousness, throughout the world.
The goal is to help vulnerable populations through a variety of programs focused on economic development and social empowerment, with a particular focus on those demographics that have been overlooked and/or marginalized.
Applications for the 2022/23 grant cycle are now OPEN.
Criteria for Grants
JHH will consider making grants to individuals or organizations that show clear promise to achieve one or both of the following:
- Respond to unmet needs of those who are poor and/or marginalized
- Promote self-help and empowerment within communities
Eligible Applicants
In the 2022/2023 Grant Cycle, we are focusing primarily on projects that provide the basic necessities for a decent life:
- Women’s Empowerment
- Education
- Food
- Shelter
- Clothing
- Water
- Health
- Internet Connectivity
- Gender Equity
Geographical Focus Areas
- East Africa
- Central America
- United States
- Any impoverished Jewish Communities
Type of Grants
Tikkun Olam Grants are awarded annually. A typical grant award may be up to $5,000. Grant recipients may reapply to have their grants renewed one time. Organizations can apply for additional grants for new projects.
Application Process
Please submit the initial inquiry form
The Full Application should begin with;
- a Letter of Application (LOA) not exceeding 3 pages in length.
- A proposed operating budget for the project or program, including the amount of funding requested from JHH and the amount of funding expected from other sources.
- If applicable, please also attach the organization’s general operating budget and an IRS determination letter of not-for-profit status (or non-US equivalent).
