Position Title: Junior Associate, HR- Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN)

GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Associate, HR, the Junior Associate will be supporting our HR activities especially on the employee life cycle, including the maintenance and the development of our HRIS.
You will actively support general HR administrative duties under the guidelines of the HR Senior Associate and will act as a real back-up of the HR function.
Role specifics include;
- Supporting the employee life cycle including drafting and preparing contractual documents such as contract extensions, addendums, calculation of final settlements, separation agreements, etc.
- Responsible for the maintenance and update of HRIS in ensuring the data and information are up to date and accurate
- Handling administration work relating to any internal moves (such as issuing letters, system update, sorting letters in appropriate folders, etc.)
- Coordinating with country offices to collect public holidays details and ensuring alignment with our Global HR Policy
- Providing guidance support to all GAIN users and train country offices regarding HR procedures
- Managing invoices and purchase order as per internal procurement policy
About you
The ideal candidate should have experience in providing excellent and high-quality HR generalist services throughout the entire employee life cycle. Also, you should have good knowledge and understanding of current employment legislation and good practice.
The postholder should have good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively in a complex and multi-lingual environment with focus on HR related field. You should have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work well under pressure with deadlines as well as proactive with a commitment to quality and accuracy with close attention to detail.
Candidate with education background in Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields is highly desirable.
About our offer
The starting salary on offer for this role is from KES 1,616,220 – KES 1,848,828 per annum, depending on experience.
