Job Summary

The Senior Total Rewards Advisor reports to the Senior Director of Global People and Culture Services.   The Senior. Total Rewards Advisor serves as a strategic global human resources leader and will be responsible for the design, implementation and communication of the Total Rewards Strategy.  The Senior Total Rewards Advisor is responsible for ensuring all of CARE’s global reward programs are competitive, sustainable, scalable, and have an impact on the long and short-term performance of the organization.  Senior Total Rewards Advisor is also responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.

The Senior Total Rewards Advisor designs, assess, implements and/or administers global benefits and incentive programs.  Creates, evaluates and/or administers global processes, methodologies and systems to ensure efficient and effective incentive program infrastructure. Provides global benefits and performance consulting to ensure appropriate benefits are competitive to align to the total rewards strategy. Provides guidance to help employees and their families better understand employer and employee organization provided group health benefits and the laws that govern them.

In addition to explaining options to the employees and facilitate CARE’s voluntary benefit plans, the Senior Total Rewards Advisor role will assist policyholders with questions about changes to their coverage(s).

Responsibilities

1. Benefits Management

Acts as subject matter expert on global benefits matters and will oversee the creation, oversight and consistent implementation of global reward policies, guidelines and best benefit practices.  Maintains globally consistent benefits structure, process, and proper implementation.  Maintains current/historical benefit options to meet the needs of the organization.  Assist in preparation of benefit strategies for the Talent Committee and Board of Directors.  Conducts and facilitate annual benefit options; conducts benefit surveys as appropriate; summarizes and maintains systems/databases.  Oversee the design and administration of global total rewards leading benefits programs including benefit vendor, working closely with brokers, internal/external survey gathering, market-based approaches to align the competitiveness of the organization’s benefits options and global market analysis with a focus on continuous improvement.

2. Design and Implement Total Reward Programs

Analyze current global rewards programs to ensure they align with the organization’s business strategy and ensures that our rewards programs optimize our ability to attract top talent.  Analyzes the market competitiveness and cost effectiveness of our global compensation and benefits plans to ensure they optimize our ability to attract and retain top talent.   Collaborate with HR Business Partners/Recruiters on compensation/benefits issues including new hires, performance recognition, retention arrangements and compensation structures; propose improvements to senior leaders.

3. Retirement Plan Management

Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation to ensure retirement savings plans are legally compliant. Prepare necessary filing and reports to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained. Responds to 401K inquires on plan provisions. Serve as primary contact to third party administrator. Support the Investment Committee in meetings its fiduciary obligation to manage the 401(k) plan.  Conduct annual tests and audits as required to ensure compliance.  Manages in the preparation of the annual 5500s forms and other government fillings. Maintain current knowledge of related government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) .Serves as a member of the fiduciary committee who oversee and monitors the investment and overall performance of the plan.

4. Vendor Management

Oversee the management of vendor relationships, contracts, and bid negotiation.  Monitor the effectiveness of health and welfare programs and recommend modifications.  Help to ensure vendors develop appropriate programs for CARE staff.  Maintain relationships with compensation vendor providing compensation studies and compensation data.

5. Communications Management

Design standard and ad-hoc benefit communication materials and templates.  Develop and manage new and on-going communication campaigns. Facilitate employee education surrounding company programs.  Update and maintain brochures and materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and or/Human Resources
  • CEBS designation, CCP, CBP, GRP, PHR, SPHR or GPHR would be an added advantage.
  • 7 years of compensation & benefits experience, working with complex global packages and with particular knowledge of retirement schemes, insurance and expatriate benefits.
  • 7-10 years with a HR background area of focus global compensation and benefits.
