Position: Project Clinical Officer

Daraja Mbili Vision Volunteers is a Community-Based Organization, registered in Kenya as a non-profit organization. As an organization, we envision to work towards having a Healthy and Empowered Society. DMVV’s mission is to enhance sustainable health access to communities in Kenya through implementation of health and social development programs that contributes to health promotion, diseases prevention, mitigation of suffering and empowerment for all. DMVV is implementing Global Fund HIV grants through Kenya Red Cross Society to implement comprehensive HIV prevention, care and support program for AYP and PLHIV in Kisii County. The program is seeking to fill the following positions in Kisii County.

Successful candidates will be expected to utilize a targeted approach to youth development by providing safe spaces for adolescents and young people to access information on sexual and reproductive health services, HIV/AIDS awareness, information resource center and recreational activities that are critical to youth-led development.

Job summary
Reporting to the Program Coordinator (PC), the PCO will be in charge of the Youth Wellness Center (YWC) responsible for timely and high-quality program implementation and support to YWC technical program team and other staff to ensure that DMVV’s work and activities are well delivered and well-coordinated internally and externally in the assigned site.

Responsibilities and Tasks
• Support and coordinate the day-to-day running of the Youth Wellness Centre (YWC).
• Ensure excellent standards and quality of clinical care is provided to all clients and effective referrals and linkages made to tertiary facilities.
• Diagnose and institute effective clinical procedures which are consistent with national guidelines and observe legal and statutory requirements in all situations.
• Ensure that the agreed program targets are met within the agreed timelines.
• Ensure that the YWC team observes and maintain confidentiality of beneficiaries’ data at all times.
• Ensure efficiency and safety of Program assets at all times.
• Ensure clients rights to access services are adhered by all YWC team at all times when handling beneficiaries.
• Ensure that healthcare services are friendly, responsive to the needs and offered at the convenient time of AYPs, and coordinate integration of health services with AYP/peer outreaches.
• Ensure initiation and continuum of care for all clients eligible for PrEP.
• Ensure that all clients who test Positive are linked and initiated on ART and followed up for continued VL Monitoring.
• Ensure that all AGYW are screened for cervical cancer as per the agreed targets.
• Plan and conduct Monthly YWC based CMEs for clinical team.
• Ensure proper commodity management; including proper documentation in the Bin Cards, lockable drug cabinets, filling of delivery notes etc.
• Strengthen communication and coordination within teams, including (but not limited to) AOF, TB, GBV and SRH.
• Promote and facilitate accountability through setting up of complaints and feedback mechanism which promotes
accountability.
• Ensure that procurement delivered meets the contractual requirements as in quality and quantity.
• Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents-site level reports are submitted to PC within agreed timeframes.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements
Candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications;
• Be in possession of Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
• Be a registered with Kenya Clinical Officers Association with the current practicing license.
• Be in possession of a certification in ART and PrEP
• Have at least 2 years’ experience working in a clinical setting.
• Have shown competence and ability in organizing, performing and discharging duties and responsibilities
• Those with additional training in will have an added advantage
• Have a similar experience in similar/related position in KP-DiCE/YWC/CCC will have an added advantage.
