Technical Activity Supervisor Needed

Reporting to the Base Responsible, the incumbent shall be responsible for supervising and monitoring the implementation of logistics activities in the project related to his/her technical activity or activities (Construction, ICT, WHS, Workshop, etc.) according to MSF standards, protocols and procedures in order to ensure the efficient running of MSF systems, infrastructure and equipment of the project

Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to

  • Working as a liaison officer between MSF and local authorities in Lokichoggio
  • Gathering and triangulating local security information and report security concerns with the base responsible in timely and effective manner
  • Functioning as a security back-up for Lokichoggio base in cooperation with the Base Responsible (first in security)
  • Responsible for safety in and around the compound, warehouses, including fire safety
  • Ensure proper maintenance and repairs of the Lokichoggio compound (accommodation, offices, warehouses, workshop etc.)
  • Act as focal point for subcontracted maintenance or construction activities, including gather necessary quotations and guiding contractors through the requirements for every particular activity.
  • Responsible for the availability and quality of all equipment in Lokichoggio Base (ICT, Communication, Fleet, Generators, Solar System etc.)
  • Responsible to do small repair like changing door’s lock, water tape, ceiling/wall fun, electrical bulb, switch, wall socket, circuit breaker (if comfortable to do that),
  • Assists/supports the Field Support Group or contracted technician during periodic maintenance activities (vehicles, generators, electrical system, water system, welding, ACs, ICT equipment, Biomed equipment)
  • Reports on regular basis to Base Responsible and Logistic Coordinator Tech on logistic activities progress and development.
  • Complete the online logistic monthly report (RLT) in the area of his activities in collaboration with the Field Support Group (FSG)

Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or its equivalent

Experience

  • Essential, at least 2 years working experience in relevant field.
  • Desirable experience with MSF or other INGOs in developing countries

Languages

  • Essential English and Swahili

Knowledge

  • Essential computer literacy, basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
