Job Opportunity: Head of Planning and Performance Management

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the– Head of Planning and Performance Management at any existing Save the Children office location.

Role Purpose:

In 2016, Save the Children agreed a 15-year global ambition toward three breakthroughs by 2030: No child dies of preventable causes before their fifth birthday (Survive); all children learn from a quality basic education (Learn); and, violence against children is no longer tolerated (Be Protected). These breakthroughs contribute to the global Sustainable Development Goals. Save the Children have three year strategies towards this shared ambition, delivered to a common strategy cycle. For the strategy period 2022-24, Save the Children will have one global strategy that represents all SCA and SCI entities.

The purpose of this newly created role is to establish and run a planning and performance management function to support strategy execution across the Save the Children movement, and SCI department planning and monitoring.

Scope of Role:

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer, with dotted line to Chief Impact Officer

Staff reporting to this post: Planning and Performance Management Analyst (1 FTE)

Key internal relationships: SCA/SCI SLT, Chief of Staff, Centre Departments, in particular Finance, Program Quality and Impact, Resource Mobilization Communications and Engagement, Transformation Delivery, Member and Organization Development, other planning functions/teams/roles in the movement.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Strong project planning and estimating skills
  • Experience with portfolio management, preferably in an enterprise project management office
  • Business case development experience – able to be a subject matter expert for others
  • Experience in working with and preparing reports for C-level stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and visual presentation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Commitment to Save the Children’s values

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a development or humanitarian organization
  • Working knowledge of Spanish, French or Arabic
  • Experience with PowerBI or tools such as PlanView

We can offer circa £ 62,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible of working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in any existing Save the Children office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
