Coordinates internally with: Dignify Developers at IO, Digital Fundraising Advisors at IOR, Dignify Product Advisors (PA) at IO, ICT Team – IOR, National ICT Advisors, Member Association End Users

Coordinate externally with: ICT staff of marketing agencies, ICT solution providers, like payment providers

It has member associations (MA’s) in Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia/Somaliland, Djibouti, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Namibia, Mauritius, Angola and Madagascar.

We are searching for a vibrant, thorough, energetic candidate experienced in web development to join our organization as a Web Developer Coordinator. The successful candidate will support in ESAF region countries in maintaining and developing new processes for fundraising oriented websites for the fundraising area, in accordance with organizational policies and benchmarks, with the purpose of generating increased fundraising.

Mission of the position:

The position will be based in either Nairobi, but you will have extensive travel in the region and beyond as you work with a global team to build capacity for digital fundraising. A supportive Fund Development network and digital fundraising team in the region, the International Office and a Software Developer in the International Office will be at your disposal for Technical Support and experience sharing. In addition, both regional and country based colleagues will provide required content, context and other input to enable you excel in your role. The position will report to the Regional Digital Fundraising Advisor – ESAF

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for Procedures and Process
  • The developer is responsible for forms, synchronizations to payment providers and 3rd party systems.
  • Develop & implement technical features on the Member Associations website as per the approved digital fundraising plans.
  • Promote the use of new technologies/tools
  • Complete functional understanding of the product
  • Adhere to global ALM and software manufacturing processes
  • Adhere to technical implementation standards

Priority Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Implements requirements of the National Associations regarding DIGIFY in the area of web forms, synchronization to CRM systems and integration of external payment providers and technical integration of Google Analytics
  • Maintains and customizes fundraising oriented websites
  • Maintains updated project documentation regarding information and communication technology issues
  • Coordinates with the Digital Fundraising Advisor (in his BA role) the development of new processes
  • Review and evaluate (assess maturity, estimations) requirements handed in by the Digital Fundraising Advisor in his BA role
  • Supports the implementation processes of the DIGIFY platform in National Associations
  • Ensures the correct functioning of the different interfaces with which the DIGIFY platform is related
  • Performs maintenance of existing processes and tools
  • Perform other duties and tasks, consistent with the skills and expertise, as required in non-routine circumstances.

Child Safeguarding

The Web Developer shall ensure that the Child Safeguarding/Child Protection Policy is mainstreamed in his/her activities in the implementation of Web developer objectives in the Organization;

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in web development, information technology, computer science, or a similar field
  • 5-7 years’ experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Excellent knowledge of object oriented programming OOP
  • Excellent knowledge of .NET and C#, and Web Services, REST API
  • Excellent Knowledge in CSS, HTML, JavaScript
  • Basic understanding of MVC patterns and object-relational mapping
  • Microsoft certification in .NET and web applications
  • Kentico CMS skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to work in cross-continental teams
